We are delighted to announce the launch of our very first Annual Report. 2017 marked a period of growth and achievement for the Compact—we made a strong start in implementing actions identified in our three-year work plan. This past year, we focused on building a foundation to harness our collective expertise and support new collaborations within our community. We came together to share ideas and best practices, identified opportunities for collaboration on renewable energy purchase and storage and created one of the first city-academic-industry collaborations to assess net zero lab feasibility. Your leadership and active engagement helped us build on these areas of substantial shared interest.
Reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions was identified as a priority area by members during the strategic planning process. The Cambridge Community-Wide GHG Inventory presented in the Annual Report provides a lens to understand current emission levels and determine collective action for Cambridge to reach its emission reduction goals by 2050.
We are grateful for the opportunity to work with you to advance Cambridge as a leader in community sustainability. Thank you for partnering with us on this journey.
